Following my hysterectomy on 5th January I was called yesterday and asked if I wanted to come in today as they had cancellations or I could keep my original appt on 13th. I panicked for a second! Anyway, went today and as soon as I walked in the surgeon said “don’t worry! I had movement and wanted to see you face to face as I’m thrilled to tell you the results are back and are exactly as we predicted, stage 1a/grade 1!” The cancer was completely confined to my uterus and is GONE! No further treatment required and I can finally say with confidence that I AM CANCER FREE! I feel so relieved and happy I can now take my life off pause!
I wanted to share this news to spread positivity as I know a few ladies who are in the same position currently waiting for histology results or have a recent diagnosis. I feel so grateful for the NHS experience and care I’ve received and thank everyone here for their advice and kind words the last couple months. El x
