  • Hi frosty

    Welcome to the Womb group.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of endometrial cancer. It is normal to feel a bit all over the place when you have a diagnosis of cancer.

A provisional stage 2 cancer is positive in that the cancer appears to be contained within your womb and has not spread anywhere else. Endometrial cancer is normally a very treatable cancer, particularly at an early stage like yours.

The appointment that you have coming up is likely to be going through your treatment plan. For most ladies a hysterectomy is offered as a first line treatment, where it is medically possible. Mine was in 2022. It was done via keyhole, I had little pain and recovered well. I was in hospital for 1 night. They may also talk to you about possible follow up treatment which is sometimes needed however this will depend on your post op results.

It is good that your doctor has given you some time off work and I remember it was hard to focus on much else. For most ladies, myself included, I did feel a bit more positive once I had my treatment plan and knew what was going to happen and when. At the moment things may feel a bit overwhelming and out of control- and that is normal. Once the appointment is done and you have the plan ahead, things should feel more in control.

In the meantime, we are here when you need us and do not be afraid to ask about anything you are not sure about. We also have the Support Line available from 8am-8pm everyday if you feel like you need to talk things through.
