Hi,
i have previously posted to see if anyone has experienced this type of tumour. Uterine Adenosarcoma. I am waiting post surgery ( 5th jan 26) for my histology results, still no idea when I will hear.
I am struggling with anxiety as I can find so little about treatment. It all seems to be case studies with no real consensus. I have no idea what is coming around the corner. I don’t know if i can get back to work in 4 weeks or I will be sick with further treatments. Thrown in to it is my lovely dad had a small stroke (TIA) last Saterday and my husband been made redundant on Monday! I am so worried I will not be able to work and don’t know what we will do…
Sorry for the overwhelming outpouring but does anyone have any ideas around treatment options for this type of tumour or and advice? Thank you
Hi Plutoserendipity, the waiting is so difficult isn’t it. Adjuvant treatment, if recommended, is very much individual, tailored to the person and their own results, and what their own consultant recommends etc. and we can’t and speculate as to what you might be offered. I’d suggest that you phone your CNS tomorrow, explain about your husband and your dad and say you’re extremely anxious to know the results so that you can move forward, and see if they can help, either by telling you or by giving you a firm date to be given the results. You could also phone the Macmillan helpline regarding the possibility of financial support as they do have some funding for people under pressure with bills during cancer diagnosis and treatment. There’s an option to select for this when you dial the main number - 0808 808 00 00
Hello PlutoSerendipity
I hope that you are recovering well from your surgery. The waiting for histology results is tough as everything can feel a bit in limbo.
I am sorry to hear about your Dad being unwell. And also that your husband is facing redundancy. I imagine it can feel overwhelming to be dealing with this all at the same time.
Uterine sarcomas are different to endometrial cancers and are treated as soft tissue sarcomas. With an endometrial cancer the cancer starts in the glandular cells of the endometrium. With a uterine sarcoma the cancer begins in the soft tissues- muscular part of the womb. They can behave differently and sometimes can be treated different
Uterine sarcomas are rarer and there are different types. Adenosarcoma is one of these types. Another type is leiomyosarcoma.
src60 Are you able to offer any advice to this lady?
This link shows some of the treatment options- however it will very much still depend on what the full histology shows when it comes back.

My suggestion would be to email/phone your CNS/consultant's secretary tomorrow and ask if there is any update. My own results came through at around 3 1/2 weeks post op and probably would have taken longer had I not kept contacting my consultants secretary. There may be an email address on some of your hospital paperwork.
