Hello,
in 2024 I was diagnosed with recurrent endometrial cancer and have had 6 rounds of carboplatin/paclitaxel followed by radiotherapy. Last year it spread to my liver so I started immunotherapy but this was stopped as it was having no effect (and I had horrible side effects). I went for tests for a trail but was not eligible and so started 18 weeks of paclitaxil which I coped with very well but have had mixed results from.
I’m now starting 6 rounds of Gemcitabine and carboplatin today and wondered if anybody else had been on this as I don’t know what to expect. I have both on day 1, gemcitabine only on day 7 then a week off before starting again.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s had or is having this combination.
Thanks Mary x
Hi Mary
Am sorry to hear that you had a diagnosis of recurrent endometrial cancer.
My own chemo was paclitaxel and carboplatin.
I have not had gemcitabine but I will pop a link to some general information that may be of help, while you are waiting for someone who has had the same chemo to respond.

I wish you well for your treatment.

Hi Mary
I'm sorry to hear of your ongoing treatments for endometrial cancer recurrence.
This is my first ever post on here but I wanted to let you know that I had GemCarbo last year and it wasn't too bad. My own endometrial cancer recurrence was diagnosed in 2022. Back to GemCarbo, my bloods couldn't tolerate the day 8 dose so it was dropped after the first cycle. I didn't lose my hair with the combo and once they sorted out sickness meds I wasn't too bad. Overall I didn't find the chemo too bad but I'm glad to be the other side of it.
Wishing you all the very best for your GemCarbo and I hope it is going OK.
Best wishes
Soph
Hello Soph, thank you so much for getting back to me and so sorry to hear you also had a recurrence. I’ve had the first cycle and it was fine, other than tiredness I’ve been ok. Hopefully this treatment will help, I’ll let you know how I get on.
hope you’re doing ok.
Thanks Mary
