Well, had an appointment today to get the feedback from my polyp biopsy.
They found a few cancer cells and say I have stage 1 endometrial cancer so I will have an MRI and a hysterectomy in the next few weeks. Hopefully that will take care of things.
Hi Lellymazda
Am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis but it sounds promising that they believe it to be early stage. The MRI is the normal next step and this is to provisionally stage the cancer and to rule out any spread.
A hysterectomy is the normal next step-where it is medically possible and is often done via keyhole. Mine was in 2022 and was straightforward. I spent one night in hospital and had little pain. I recovered quickly. After my post op results came back I needed some additional treatment but I remain well.
If there is anything that you want to ask about, please do so. We also have the Support Line there from 8am-8pm daily if you need to talk to someone.

Hi Lellymazda, I think that’s grade 1 rather than stage 1 - the MRI that you will be having will be for the predicted stage. Hopefully you will have your MRI soon, then your pre op assessment and then your op! I had my op in January 2022. All of us here are either going through the same thing or have gone through it and are out the other side, so we are all here to support you!
This brings back so many memories for me. It is a year ago today since I had my diagnosis.
I waited about a week for my MRI and chest x ray then I had my hysterectomy in February.
I did not need any further treatment thank goodness.
it’s a worrying time but this forum is great and I hope you get lots of support from your team
Well, my MRI is next week - had a bit of a laugh as I did some research and found that the std MRI machine has an internal diameter of 60cm. The larger one is 70cm. I'm 73cm shoulder to shoulder so I have said I will take a bottle of lube to grease my arms up!!
Silly thing is, NOW I feel nervous and edgy.
Still, if they find something then it is better to know.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
