Happy new year to you all hope 2026 is kind to you all.

I had my mri new years eve it wasn't as terrible as I thought although I was in fr an hr my anxiety was bearable. They were lovely to me before it, calmed me down told me before going in the histology report said grade 1 uterine cancer and that is very treatable. After wards the lady that took the imaging came out and said your going to be ok. I know they are not allowed to comment but ive clung to this. My husband says absolutely no way would anything like that be said if more serious things were found. I know I have to wait to hear from the dr but its horrendous my app is not to Tuesday. Yesterday I was ok and positive today I feel anything but. I also cant get my head around the fact that how can I have cancer and possibly after 1 operation its gone and that's that.

Hi Ma80, well done for having the MRI and though the days definitely seem long when you’re waiting, 6 days’ wait is pretty good! I was lucky, only had to wait 3 days, which is unusual, but 6 days is pretty good too. Yes that’s the thing with endometrial cancer that makes it “different” from other cancers - once the uterus, ovaries and cervix is out (because it’s an “independent” organ) that usually means we are cancer free and often means either no further treatment needed or maybe a bit of preventative/belt and braces/insurance policy. So much progress has been made with cancer research (which is why it’s so good for people to donate to cancer charities) that cancer is no longer necessarily such a big deal, especially for types where early detection is possible such as endometrial! So be reassured!
