Now panicking about fluid in fallopian tube

It seems that there is nothing that won't set me panicking right now.

I was aware that one of my fallopian tubes had fluid in it, post the MRI.  I was also told several years ago when undergoing fertility treatments that both of my tubes seemed blocked although it was inconclusive.

I didn't realise (or maybe I was being ignorant) that fluid in a tube can indicate ovarian cancer - has anyone else with a low grade/stage womb cancer had a fluid-filled tube and it turned out to be something and nothing?

  • Hi Liz, I feel for your with your anxiety but have you been googling again? If you are, though it’s understandable, doing so is actually fuelling your anxiety - like fighting a fire whilst feeding the flame. It’s counterproductive. If no one answers, I don’t think it will make you feel better and think it’s likely that your anxiety will just manufacture something else to worry about. Your cancer is a predicted stage 1A - 1A means no spread.

  • Hi Lizbot

From my understanding fluid in a fallopian tube can be due to scaring from endometriosis, which you have been diagnosed with.

When you had your scans your ovaries and fallopian tubes will have been looked at. That is why they believe that you have a stage 1a cancer- they have checked for spread and they can not see any. If there was any sort of problem with your ovaries then this would have shown up on the scans. A stage 1a cancer means that they can only pick up on cancer that is either in a polyp or in the endometrium but it does not extend more than 50% into the muscle. If there was spread further afield this would have been picked up on the scans. With the cancer being a grade 1 cancer, it is a slow growing and non aggressive type.

Try to focus on what you know for sure at the moment and try not to worry about the unknown- easier said than done, I know.
