Had Hysteroscopy on Saturday consultant certain it's cancer so ordered an mri.  Mri refused because it's 6 days since Hysteroscopy I am.going bananas so stressed and fearful anyone else had this?  They wouldn't even schedule the mri

  • Hi Gwen

Am sorry to hear you are having issues with the MRI. Have you got contact details for the consultant to let them know? Alternatively you could contact GP and say that the consultant ordered an MRI and the MRI dept won't schedule it. I wonder if GP could book directly for you.

Am sorry to hear that it looks like cancer and I remember how stressful it was for me undergoing all the testing. Hopefully the MRI can be done very soon and the biopsy results will be back as well. Once they are done then it is normally all passed to the MDT who will come up with the best possible treatment plan.

In the meantime we are here if you need us.

  • Thank you I have asked the gp to give me a call.

  • Hi Gwen, thank you for sharing your story!

I’ve been told today following a US on 6th October showing a thickened lining of 27.5mm and biopsy on 26th October that abnormal cells were found and I was being referred for an urgent MRI. I asked twice if cancerous cells were found and was told no, but there’s a 40% chance there could be. Whilst in my appointment, the oncologist called the consultant and asked he re-do the biopsy, taking as much as possible for analysis again, which he did.

An hour after my appointment, I was called regarding the MRI which has been booked for tomorrow afternoon. I am absolutely terrified. It’s amazing how quickly I’m being seen, but that’s only making me more panicked! They can’t win! But I am very grateful.

Hope your GP can push the MRI referral for you and you get some definitive answers quickly. It’s such a worrying time waiting.
