Had my diagnosis

I had a phone call from the nurse at Gynaecology and she asked me to come into the office tomorrow for a chat. I thought oh no and asked her to say it and I have been diagnosed with very early stage Womb cancer. She is going to call me back tomorrow to let things skink in. I am going to have an MRI next week to see exactly what the situation is regarding the cancer stage and grade.

I have told my family and they are very supportive and my sister is here with me now and my friend who's also my career.

One of my concerns are that I all ready have a chronic health condition called Functional neurological disorder, which is a brain networking condition which gives me functional seizures not epilepsy and mobility impairment. I also have constant sinus infections from an allergy so I don't feel great a lot. I am now thinking is my increased fatigue and feeling of malaise I have been getting lately the cancer making me ill. Does early stage cancer make you feel rough?

Other than that I am trying not to get to far ahead of myself which as women know its really hard not too.

  • Big hugs. The waiting is the worst part. I thought my tiredness was down to work/life etc but it was probably the cancer. Take care.

  • Hi Aderyn

I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of womb cancer. I hope that your scan confirms that it is an early cancer.

I understand your worries about having pre existing health conditions and whether your increased fatigue and malaise are due to them or the cancer.

Looking back I was feeling quite tired and out of sorts before my diagnosis- however I had recently had covid and had a busy working life. I was early stage, high grade.

It is good that you have family support but do give the Support Line a call if talking things through would help.

  • I got diagnosed at stage 1 grade 1. But I also felt constant fatigue and tired. I also had heavy bleeding and unbearable pain. But on a bright side it is good that it has been detected early. Sending you loads of love and hugs
