Hello
i I came on here about a month ago having had a post menopausal bleed and I was referred super quickly for a ultrasound and what I thought was going to be a hysteroscopy but actually just ended up with an examination and an endometrial biopsy. I received the results saying nothing concerning had shown up on the biopsy and so was super relieved and glad.
Today I have had another bleed of fresh blood with accompanying cramping (not a result of biopsy as that was a few weeks ago now) and so not sure what to do. I kind of wished I had had the hysteroscopy now as it might have given more of an idea what is causing this. I don’t know whether to leave it and see if it gets worse or what to do.
would be so grateful for any advice.
thanks so much
Hi Riveron
If the bleeding soaks through 1 pad an hour and/or the pain is hard to manage, then I would advise giving NHS111 a call tonight. This is what I was told to do by my CNS.
Otherwise I would suggest giving your GP a call in the am. Whilst it is reassuring that your biopsy came back negative last month- something is causing the bleeding and there may be some form of treatment needed. Some ladies are offered the mirena coil where there is bleeding.
Alternatively you could call the Macmillan Support line from 8am tomorrow and talk to one of the nurses.
