Hi all. Just after a bit of feedback really. I'm 7 weeks post robotic hysterectomy and luckily no further treatment required. My question is about sleepiness. Even after 7 weeks I'm suddenly overwhelmed by sleepy heavy eyes mid afternoon. I tend to keep busy in the morning but come 3pm ish I'm heavy eyed. I wouldn't say it's fatigue as.my body doesn't feel tired, I just I feel I need to sleep. This isnt my like me at all pre-op. I just wondered if anyone else still suffered with sleepiness every day after 7 weeks and if so when did it start to lift?
Hi Shloha, sounds par for the course to me, especially given the weather we’ve been having. You’re not only recovering from the op, but also recovering from the whole shebbang of tests, waiting, scans, waiting, diagnosis, waiting, pre op, waiting, operation, waiting, results and the mental toll it takes on us. It’s also why it’s advisable to wait at least 8 weeks before going back to work.
Hi. Thank you for your reassuring words. I'm going back to work on phased return in a couple of weeks so should be fine. I was just surprised how tired I am as I had emergency colostomy surgery 6 yrs ago and I'm sure I wasn't as washed out. I'm older now though haha. I suppose there's nothing wrong with a nanna nap in the afternoon
