Morning, I do hope you are doing okay .
May I ask, has anyone discussed with their oncologist whether 4 chemos might be okay rather than six?
just a seed planted after mine said as I was walking out of the door that we shall aim for six but will review how you are tolerating the chemo after four . ( He also confusingly mentioned only having one or the two drugs after 4 sessions being an option ).
My most severe side affects co-incided with the heat wave a few days ago and I am feeling rather miserable now .
Thank you so much and best wishes .
Ah…I can sympathise with you re the heatwave, 4 weeks post end of treatment, the one two weeks ago I really struggled with. Yep Queens then Wimbledon helped me along the way, so can understand that as well.
i had a time following each of my chemos when I thought I can’t do another one, but somehow managed to get through, but then i was only doing 4 of the Paclitaxel/Carbo….had two lots of Cisplatin earlier with radio.
Just wanted to say well done for getting 5 out of the way, and hope you have a productive chat with your oncologist. Don’t think there is a right or wrong answer re doing 5 or 6, you just have to be comfortable with the decision. So much easier when that decision is made by the medics!
Thank you so much Waidh - I really appreciate everyone’s kind words of encouragement here. I think the heat in the house at such times just adds a whole other layer to suffering ! We know what we are in for but it feels like a complete spanner in the works especially if we struggle with heat anyway . But I must focus on the positive and it was only for 3 days and although still in bed ( day 8), I know things will be better at the weekend.
best wishes to everyone else struggling with chemo at the moment .
I have routine CT scan results next week ( six months after hysterectomy) and so that thought is impacting my resilience for sure .
take care all.
