From i was diagnosed in September 2022 I was prescribed Provera (Medroxyprogesterone) 200mg daily. I went to the chemist on Wednesday to collect my prescription but they only had 4 tablets I usually get 56. Went back yesterday and they told me they can get them that 'they have gone short and I need to get an alternative. Is anyone else having this problem??
Hello Cathy (Cathyc123)
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying it will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope seen and answered by other members of the womb group.
I do hope you get your medication issues sorted out.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Cathyc123
I have heard of this personally. I have also heard of others with a similar issue with Megace. I wonder if that shortage has meant a higher demand for the provera.
You would be best to consult with your doctor to see what alternative there is. There are other similar medications that can be prescribed.
Hopefully it can be sorted quickly for you.
Good Luck
Jane
