Hi all, I realise there is no definite answer about recovery and fatigue but has anyone been able to enjoy a holiday within 2 to 3 months of six sessions of chemo ending,  or am I being too optimistic? I have friends in Paris I would love to visit in October and last chemo on 29 July ( followed by 3 brackytherapy in August ).
Thank you

  • Hi

I've been away in this country during treatment. I am currently in the chair having my last treatment and we have a holiday booked on 12th June, I'm going come hell or high water Sweat smile as we've already cancelled 2 trips abroad since I was diagnosed last July.

We will also be going to France in our motorhome and our thinking is that we can be home fairly swiftly if needed.

  • Good for you Helen and I hope you have a lovely time. So much cancelled or postponed in our circumstances.
Did you manage to include your cancer in travel insurance? I did ring staysure and they asked me to call back when all treatment ended

  • Yep, I’ve got a note to sort out travel insurance once I’ve completed my treatment, even though I’ve booked a couple of holidays, the first in the Uk 3 months after treatment ends.

  • I already had annual multi-trip insurance in place. I called them and they have amended the policy to not cover me for cancer until 6 months after treatment ends. When it renewed in March the cost had actually gone down!
