sometimes when I see a baby it makes me feel sad because I know I can't have children not now and some people think I can just forget about it and say would i want children my age im 47 ?

  • Hi

I'm sorry that you are feeling down. All emotions that you feel are valid. I have a daughter but have gone through periods in my cancer journey of feeling down that my marriage didn't work ( all my friends are happily married and I'm simply happy for them), that I'm single etc . I then realised that was me taking stock of my life, as a result of cancer. It has been removed but was high grade and high risk. I now want to recognise every thing I'm grateful for, every day. This takes less effort than I thought. This may or may not be helpful to you. But, even if it's not, what you are feeling is valid and true to you x

  • sorry im not if I understand what you mean

  • Hi again

Sorry, what I mean is it's valid to have the feeling of sadness about not having a child. It's a powerful and important feeling for you and I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're sad about this. It doesn't matter how old you are.

Hope that makes more sense? X

  • yeah I understand u eveytime I see a child i get sad

  • Is there a way for you to get more involved with children, perhaps volunteering to help run a kids club or something? I used to help both brownies and beavers many years ago. I know it won’t be the same, but it could help?

  • i work at a leisure centre Tuesday morning and Thursday s morning and I volunteer on Wednesday they all have children
