Hello, a quick update - during the last weekend I had some nose bleeds, it was only when I was blowing my nose. I rang the helpline yesterday and was told to stop taking the Lenvatinib and go to see my GP. Managed to get an appointment in the afternoon and was prescribed antibiotic nasal ointment. Spoke to the helpline again today and was told not to take the Lenvatinib until I hear from them, a bit confusing as the GP said that I can take the tablets? Anyway, I will wait to hear from the helpline. So wait and see...
Hi MHML
Am sorry to hear that you have had some nosebleeds.
With anything cancer related I would always go by what the cancer helpline suggests in the first instance. They are the experts. Hopefully you will hear back soon and by then the antibiotic ointment should start to have an affect.
Jane
Hello, I am sorry to hear about the nose bleeds, I hope you hear soon as to whether to continue the tablets or not. I’ve now had two sessions of immunotherapy and been taking Lenvatinib for four weeks. I’ve had a few side effects, mainly nausea and tiredness but nothing unmanageable. Fingers crossed you will be able to continue, it’s the waiting that gets to you isn’t it. Take care Mary x
Thanks Mary, good to hear that you are tolerating the treatment reasonably well. I was told to get referred by my GP to the ENT clinic even with an urgent case it is 2 months waiting list so I am going private tomorrow. Also have my bloods tomorrow so they will decide if I can have second infusion. See how it goes. keep well and will be in touch.
I do hope it goes well, fingers crossed, I wouldn’t have waited either. My thyroid function had apparently dropped so.they are doing another bloood test this week for me to in addition to the one I have booked before my third round. I’ve never had thyroid issues so hopefully if it has been effected they can give me medication. Hope your bloods are clear. Mary
