I was diagnosed in December 2024, have started hormone therapy and been told the only way forward is to reduce my BMI … I have lost 2 stone so far and continue to push so the op can be done for a total hysterectomy.
Im so worried about the consistent low mood caused by the hormones, my emotions are so heightened… how has everyone else dealt with this? Was there anything you found that helped?
I’m also concerned about ongoing blood loss frequent bleeding and loss of very large clots but they have changed from ‘normal clots’ to almost necrotic tissue clots… has anyone else experienced this? My consultant is not concerned but it feels very strange
Hi Hun, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in Dec 23. Like you needed to loose weight and my BMI was very high. I have lost nearly 4 st and doing ok. I had a coil fitted in march 24 that has a hormone on. My mood swings and my emotions run very high also. I think you just have to try and keep on top of it. I keep myself busy as possible. Looking forward to getting better after my operation. Fingers crossed. Think positively if you can. Hope things get a little better for you. I'm here if you need to chat. Take care....
I have a Mirena coil in for almost 6 months now and have experienced some bleeding but mainly during the first few months. This is fairly common and can be intermittent. My team advised that many women have thickened womb lining, which gives rise to the bleeding when on hormone treatment. It's the lining thinning out, so the hormone is doing its job.
As for the moods, as the other poster says, you just have to keep busy and try to rise above it really. For my part, I take each day as it comes and try not to look too far ahead. It does help me a lot. Exercise can help with low mood, whatever the cause, so I hit the gym, which helps with weight loss too. Well done for losing 2 stone! I lost quite a lot of weight but some of it has crept back on, but I keep trying!
