i still can't believe that I had cancer i just wish it wasn't tso scary do you Kown if macmillan do coulling? and if i need to pay for it Doreen hope im not being safegish

  • Hi Doreen

It can take a while to come to terms with a diagnosis of cancer and you are not alone in feeling scared.

The Support Line is available from 8am-8pm daily and is a good starting point if you need to talk to someone. They can also have a look in your local area to see if there is anything local to you.

Macmillan Buddies is another way of getting support. I know that you were waiting to be matched with someone. Have you heard anything yet?

The HOPE course that I mentioned is also really good- I have done it myself and it helped. It is free.

There used to be BUPA counselling available through Macmillan but that has now finished.

Have you spoken with your GP about how you are feeling? There may be counselling offered through your GP practice. I know at mine there is and you refer yourself and its on the NHS.

Your CNS may also be able to recommend something through your hospital that would help.
