im still feeling really scared about my new s i had last year
Hi Dorrenw
I am sorry you are feeling scared. Was it the cancer diagnosis that was scaring you?
Jane
I was anxious before every appointment and I have had many. It's normal to feel that way. Mine was a high grade cancer and I had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Once treatment was over I had to go every 12 weeks for 2 years. My nurse was lovely but it was still hard at times. However once the appointments were done, I did feel reassured.
A good CNS can make all the difference- I don't think many people would not feel anxious about checks. Talking to people does help.
I think they do get easier though as the next time you know what to expect and what will happen.
Hello Jane 2511. I was so pleased to read your post. I'm glad that you're still doing well. I have just been diagnosed with a high grade cancer, like you, and it was reassuring to know you're still here! I'm right at the beginning of this journey and I'm scared. Everyone tells me to be positive but whenever I do I seem to get more bad news. I've had my CT but the MRI is tomorrow. Far from being reassured by the hospital ( I have only had telephone apps with the gynecologist) he always sounds so intense it frightens me. I haven't been assigned to 'team'. I chose to go privately for my hysteroscopy since I didn't fancy facing it on the strength of 2 paracetamol!! So glad I did but now back to NHS so perhaps I'm still being 'transferred.'
I wish you well.
Hello Pa52
Sorry to hear your news. The period of getting scans and tests was the most anxious time for me. I just wanted to know what was what, and what that meant re treatment. Until they had everything they needed scans wise they didn’t want to tell me too much. As soon as they had everything, things moved ahead really quickly for me. Once I had the treatment plan, I found things easier to deal with.
hopefully if you are having MRI tomorrow things should become known in the next week or two for you.
Good luck for tomorrow and hope you don’t have to wait too long to find out your treatment plan.
