Hello everyone
Just thought I would post a little update after my hysteroscopy this week.
I have had endometrial thickening since 2018. Was told I had a polyp in 2021 which apparently had disappeared in 2022. A biopsy in 22 was normal and apparently the polyp had gone away. Was told to just watch for any bleeds. I can’t have the Mirena coil as it didn’t agree with me and had to be removed after only 2 weeks.
January I had bright red spotting so was referred on 2WW. A week later I was seen in clinic, thickening still there so a hysteroscopy was needed. Unfortunately I passes out during so could not be completed.
My GA was initially booked for 26th March but then brought forward to this week.
I was kept in recovery a little longer as my blood pressure and heart rate kept dropping, I have an issue with low blood pressure since January.
A heat pad and a couple of ibuprofen dealt with the cramp after and it wore off within a couple of hours.
I’m on day 2 post general and no bleeding, no pain. Spent most of yesterday a bit lightheaded but that’s just the effects of the anaesthetic.
I just wanted to reassure anyone who may have this procedure coming up that it’s not too bad a procedure.
Just waiting on results now from the biopsy and polypectomy.
I told the gynaecologist about an issue I have with not being able to start weeing after sexy time, they had a look while I was under and I have a grade 1 Cystocele, prolapsed bladder. So another referral needed but may account for some of my other issues. The joys of being a woman!
I’m not worrying about results at all which feels strange but worrying will get me nowhere, won’t change the outcome which in the majority of 2WW is 90% not cancer. If it is in the 10% then I know I have a good medical team to support me
Thank you Waidh.
I have emergency dentist today as had toothache all week too so has been a week of it. This is the 4th time in 7 years that I have been referred so I guess that’s why I am more relaxed about it. I think every time I see a gynaecologist I ask for an elective hysterectomy now. I’ve been told I can’t have hysteroscopy or even a coil inserted unless it’s under GA so my argument is they will continue to have to deal with me repeatedly as the hyperplasia is not going away and polyps can regrow. Hope you have had a good week x
Good week for me thanks, second of the chemo with my radiotherapy and not feeling as nauseous as first time round, well not nauseous at all. Planning a very lazy weekend, books, puzzles and the Amy Winehouse film to watch!
Sounds like a good plan, I love these sort of weekends x
I hope the results come back quickly for you. In the meantime we are here if you need us
