So I went in on Wednesday for my hysterectomy. Mine was carried out using the Da Vinci robot which basically leaves you with 5 key holes across your stomach. I stayed in one hospital for 1 night and then home. Similar recovery time of 6-8 weeks and same restrictions as in no lifting etc.

Minimal discomfort and pain just bloating and sore.
now to wait the three weeks or so for all my results to come back to see if I need any other further treatment.
at least that part of the journey is done.

we can do this ladies

  • Well done for getting that out of the way, and wishing you well in your recovery. Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long to get the results

  • Hi Runner54

Glad that it has gone ok and wish you the best for your recovery.

  • Hi

I’ve just had a 5 min walk around the block with husband and now having a cuppa lol

arr you managing to sleep on your side at night that’s my worst part lol but using a spare pillow as support.
agree the hardest part Is not doing anything

  • Runner54, well done for starting the walking. I did 5 mins round the block almost as soon as I got home, and from then on did 5 mins twice a day and gradually increased as I felt like it. By two weeks post op I was up to 30 mins per day or more. It should help clear the lungs of the anaesthetic, assist digestion and help circulation. (My op was Jan 2022)

  • That is my plan

    are you all good now?

  • Not quite on my side I tried last night but had to roll into back , my V shaped pillow has been a good send.. off for a 5 minute walk later with hubby then solo walks from tomorrow ...I didn't realise how exhausting it would be...and boring ...lots of reading planned for next week's as flying solo so need to be sensible.

  • Hi Runner54, as far as any of us knows, yes! Hoping your recovery from your op continues really smoothly,
