Hello everyone
I was diagnosed with endometrial thickening in 2018. Checked again in 2021 and told I also had polyp. I had a biopsy in 22 and all normal and polyp had gone away.
i had post menopausal spotting in January and referred on the 2WW on 14th January.
Visited the rapid access clinic on 20/01/25 and thickening is 8mm with a moderate polyp. They attempted hysteroscopy but unfortunately I passed out and stopped breathing. They advised I would be back within 4 weeks for a GA for a biopsy and polypectomy which would also need testing.
Pre op was done on 5/02/25
Today I received a letter for my GA and biopsy for 26/03/25 - over 10 weeks from referral.
So frustrated as I have bilateral groin pain, have now been constipated since September.
My next step will be an email to Pals but I just needed to rant to people who may understand
Hello Dondons1234
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that it has taken so long to get to this stage and I can understand your worry and frustration.
The online community is a safe place and it is fine to express your feelings on here. If you ever think it would help to talk to someone- then do give the Support Line a call.
As you have already had your pre op, I wonder if it is worth asking the hospital if you could be put on a cancellation list, just in case you can get the hysteroscopy done before the end of March. Sometimes, for different reasons, they may have someone booked in who does not need the appointment.
With the groin pain and constipation- are they aware that this has developed? It may be worth speaking to your GP to see if things can be moved along. After my biopsy I was called and told I had cancer and then nothing happened. I wanted to know about surgery and when it would happen etc. I contacted my GP who was able to contact the hospital directly and arranged for me to be seen the next day.
PALS is a good plan and that is what they are there for.
Jane
Hello Jane2511,
Thank you.
i have spoken to the support line, they were fab.
i told them about the constipation in November and again in January, they said it’s not related. The groin pain originally started with leg pain and I have had a back MRI which was ok and just had a pelvic MRI last week.
Strangely I am not worrying too much, just more frustrated that if there were something wrong then it’s a long time to wait. My GP won’t contact the hospital for me either.
That is a long wait. But not dissimilar to mine and I am a private patient. I have super scary 47mm thickening, polyps and immediate family history. It took a month from my ultrasound to my out patient hysteroscopy. I am now 2 months on from sudden onset symptoms and waiting biopsy results. I suspect I have another month to wait for surgery at least. I am surprised it will be nearly 3 months and I am paying patient. I wonder how you get on the 2 week pathway...it seems it depends entirely on how busy they are and the area you live I think.
I was referred on a 2WW from the GP as had spotting. 47mm is very thick, you must be really worried especially with family history.
I was originally told I had thickening 7 years ago but couldn’t have a Mirena coil. Tried HRT and side effects for me were awful. So I’ve gone through biopsy before in 2021 and it was normal.
i had a call from the hospital yesterday and my GA is now scheduled for tomorrow. Sometimes I wish I could just have a hysterectomy and be done with the repeated problems and procedures. They did say they could put me in a wait for one and have recently sent a letter saying due the severe vagal episode I can not have any further procedures like that including inserting a coil.
I thought you would’ve had a faster route privately x
Good luck tomorrow. At least that will be another step in the right direction.
Thank you Sparky55, all done. Just the wait for results now. I’m not worried about results as I know that 9 out of 10 2WW referrals are all ok. I asked the consultant about an issue I have after sex and that is I am unable to wee. Even if I’m desperate, I cannot start a wee. They said they would look whilst I was under and have sent a letter to my GP stating I have a grade 1 bladder prolapse. So the GP said my pelvic pain, leg pains, constipation were unrelated but looking up the prolapse it does cause all of these symptoms. So another referral needed. Think they may double my national insurce at this rate of appointments and tests
