I've had some abdominal pain and persistent pink spotting for 4 days
Initially thought i had been too active so rested completely but still spotting
I have appointment with nurse specialist next week as routine follow-up so planning to report symptoms then unless they worsen
Everything had been progressing well so
Hi Mimizan
Why not give your CNS a call today and get some reassurance? I expect they will say its fine to wait and come in next week but at least then you won't be worrying about it?
I wonder if it could be to do with a stitch dissolving? I was told that this would normally happen a bit earlier but sometimes can vary. I'm not sure about the abdominal pain.
I was told that a small amount of pink spotting was ok and most likely during the first month. Any bright red blood would need checking in case there was a problem with healing at the vaginal cuff.
Good Luck
Jane
Hi Mimizan
I hope everything has resolved for you. I have some pink discharge and sharp pains these past few days (5 weeks post op). Walked up quite a steep incline to our car when I felt some pain then this started. Had no discharge up to now. I rang my CNS, who said discharge normal up to seven weeks. I’m just a bit alarmed that it has come from the exertion. She spoke to my consultant, who doesn’t seem concerned
Im seeing oncologist in a couple of days and they suggested I mention it to her.
Like you, I’m a bit down at not recovering as well as I’d hoped and worried something is wrong with my vaginal cuff.
appreciate any thoughts you have.
Hi Dolly3
Just a thought but perhaps ask your oncologist whether it could be due to your stitches dissolving/coming away inside. I remember on one occasion seeing the remains of a stitch in the loo.
I can understand you are worried about the vaginal cuff- but I have been on here for the last 3 years and it is not something that I have yet seen so I believe it is fairly rare. You have checked with your CNS, who checked with your consultant and are seeing your oncologist soon- so I would feel reassured that this may just be part of the natural healing. If you had any changes or severe pain, bleeding etc- then this would be a time to seek urgent medical advice.
