Just got a call from doctors with my blood test results. My ca125 test has come back high. Normal rate is 35 mine was 100. I’m so scared.
Hi Kimmy43
I can understand your worry.
My cancer was 2022. My consultant explained to me that a raised ca125 does not necessarily mean cancer. It can be raised for other reasons. One of them is infection. Other reasons could be fibroids, endometriosis etc.
Ca125 can be raised in some people with ovarian cancer. In womb cancer it is viewed as a useful marker. Ca125 it self does not diagnose or exclude cancer. Its just one part of the whole picture. So a raised level would suggest further investigation would be the best plan.
What I would expect to happen next- if you haven't already had one- is a ultrasound to have a closer look.
Why not give the Support Line a call and chat things through with one of the nurses. It might help.

Roll on Wednesday coz the worry is unreal. I’ve always had issues, cysts, psoc , polyps when pregnant and I’ve had fibroids and I had the nova sure procedure done over 6 years ago aswell due to heavand painful periods. Everything seemed to be fine until my periods stopped and I went on hrt patches.
As others have said, a raised CA125 does not necessarily mean cancer. In my case, my CA125 was actually quite low and I was still diagnosed with stage 1 EC, so it doesn't always make sense. Many things can raise the level, so wait and see. I hope you get some answers very soon. Best wishes.
