Afternoon all
Update as promised all - just rang the nursing team to see when I should expect to hear something re appointment or operation.. the nurse said they won’t be back yet - just let’s have a check.. oh my they are back she said - it’s the shortest report she has ever seen and it has not gone anywhere else.. don’t give staging until after op but would expect this to be low grade stage one - the best possible news
thanks for all your support up to now very much appreciated-
will update my bio as I go
thanks
Maria
Hi Maria
That is good news. Hopefully they will discuss at the next MDT and be able to sort a surgery date for you.
In the meantime, we are here if you need us.
Jane
Hiya thanks Jane, I have not mentioned the call to family yet as I was very unsure when off the call from the nurse who had written the short report, is this the people doing the scan or is this already been psssed to a doctor. Do you think is this likley to change when the team has looked at it etc do you think it is safe to assume all is Ok and tell the family or would I be best waiting until I have it confirmed. # confused
If in any doubt I would say that they believe it is an early stage cancer but full results will be confirmed after surgery. I said similar to my family.
When I had my diagnosis I was phoned by a nurse- as previously arranged who said it was early stage. After that the results were discussed at the MDT. I later went in for an appointment with a consultant who gave me a provisional stage of 1-2. I wasn't given a grade. Post op I was grade 3, stage 1b.
So I would be thinking along the lines of provisionally it all seems an early cancer but you are waiting to be seen by the consultant- who will look in depth at the scan etc and will know more then.
Jane
Thanks once again for your reply, I really appreciate it xx
Update - I have an appointment with the team on the 22nd of Jan.. another nurse went through the results to say all looks contained from the scan - feeling a lot less anxious no I know when appointment is
have a good weekend all xx
