Has anybody here been given Niraparib for Endometrial Cancer? It is not part of the usual treatments offered here in Ontario, Canada. I am thinking of joining a clinical trial to receive Niraparib. I was wondering how effective people found it to be. It seems to help people with Ovarian Cancer. I have stage 3A Serous Endometrial Cancer and have just completed my third round of Paclitaxel and Carboplatin. I have 3 more rounds to go.
Hello DidiOntario
I had the same chemo as you in 2022. I hope that it is going ok for you and you are not having too many side effects.
I have not heard of Niraparib being used in Endometrial cancer but that is not to say it isn't. You could give the Support Line a call and ask one of the nurses. In the meantime I will pop a link with some info that may help.

Thanks for responding and sending me the links. There are a lot of possible side effects with Niraparib. Hopefully it will help. It’s helped people with Ovarian Cancer but I don’t think it’s been used much for endometrial cancer yet.
I just found out that the clinical trial for Serous Endometrial Cancer and Niraparib has closed. I probably have to do radiation therapy which terrifies me due to the effects on friends of the family. I will keep hunting for clinical trials while I figure out what to do. Ughh.
I had radiotherapy and it was 25 sessions. There are different types of radiotherapy though and brachytherapy seems to be done over 3 sessions. For me, I think the chemo had more effects on those around me as I was so unwell with it, for the radiotherapy it was more the tiredness from all the travelling.

Thanks for responding. Do you still suffer side effects from the radiation treatments?
Yes, but not everyone does. I can control mine on the whole with medication/dietary changes.
