What on earth is falling out of me?!

Evening all, I’m new here and I do apologise for the length of my first post. You are all so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, I’m hoping you may be able to help me.

I’m in for a hysteroscopy next week with suspected endometrial cancer. I’m late perimenopause, early forties and estrogen dominant (I’ve had a progesterone deficiency for a long time). My most notable symptoms are tons of cervical mucus (clear discharge) daily with no smell/occasionally pink, increasing pelvic/back/vaginal pain and a 50mm endometrial lining (seen in my recent ultrasound).

When going to the bathroom in recent weeks, I would occasionally see an unusual transparent pink, rope like tissue/discharge - floating in the bowl after I’m done going for a pee. This strange discharge/rope texture, is never in my underwear/on a pad, only in the bowl of the toilet. This morning, my small dog jumped onto me, bang smack into my uterus and I was in insane pain for a couple of hours. Immediately after the incident I had a heavy bleed, whereas I’m mostly dribbling/spotting blood in recent weeks.

I went to the bathroom for a pee and towel change a couple of hours later and there was a much larger amount of this strange transparent, pink ‘rope’. It was twirling and floating and behaving very differently to the rest of the blood/pink clear discharge that had sunk to the bottom of the bowl. I was so taken aback, I took a video!

I have endometriosis and PCOS, so I’m no stranger to extreme blood loss and clots, this rope like tissue however is very different. I’ve been researching and watching far more videos than I should during all the waiting, including hysteroscopies in women with endometrial cancer. I noticed with a lot of the women with womb cancer in these videos, their uterus contained an almost soft coral like texture, with transparent pink-vascular ropes attached to their lining.

This is exactly what the texture is like that I saw in the bowl today and previously (to a lesser degree). Is this even possible, has it happened to any of you?! Could the knock from my dog have dislodged a small amount of cancerous lining?!

I would be ever so grateful for any help, thank you Pray tone2

  • Try not to worry the best thing is to contact your Gynaecologist or your GP.

During my time I had the same stringy things happening when I had my womb cancer every time I went to pee my wee pink strings were floating around I also had a issue with bleeding for nearly six months but my Gynaecologist said it was the cancer I was then put onto a high dose of progesterones as well as the cold thank god the bleeding stopped but my strings didn't, AS I SAID AT THE BEGINNING CONTACT YOUR GYNAECOLOGIST OR YOUR GP WHO WILL SAY CONTACT YOUR GYNAECOLOGIST.

Good luck and try to have a good Christmas and New Year and never reject all support offered but also remember how much you want to talk about regarding YOUR cancer is YOUR decision and make that clear so that you are not harassed or pestered regarding Your cancer. Xx

  • Thank you so much for replying Wilma and I’m so sorry that you’ve been through so much Heart

It’s rather bittersweet to know another woman has gone through the same (possibly?) rare issue but also very sad because I know how scary it is.

I’m pretty much convinced I have womb cancer at this point, I think more so because preparing for the worst will help if it’s the reality. Although nothing probably braces anyone for the shock.

My hysteroscopy is soon, can they see if it’s possibly womb cancer while inside my uterus or do they not comment anything until pathology comes back? I know they can’t definitely confirm on sight only, I’m more so wondering if they mention if they suspect it.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year also and thank you for your kind words of support Wilma Heart

  • Would it help to try to catch some of the stringy things (wee through a colander perhaps?) and take them to the GP to look at, and possibly send off for analysis?

  • Mine were always in my urine samples so if she's asks for a sample catcher then she will get it into the sample bottle.

  • I did wonder whether it was worth involving the doctor, when they’ll be taking biopsies from me in my upcoming hysteroscopy? By the time I get an appointment (takes ages) with the GP, I’ll have had the operation Thinking

  • Hi Nitnat, Have you now had your hysteroscopy?

    x

  • Hi Heart️ I’m booked in to have it on Christmas Eve, of all days! Later than expected but the gynaecologist did promise before Christmas I suppose lol x

  • They are cutting it fine haha, I hope it goes well. The waiting is always horrendous!

  • Couldn't agree more, I had my Pap smear test of the vaginal vault on the 16th of December 2024 went through a couple of niggles I have been having since my operation on 24th May 2024 such as my leaking faucett as I have to wear pads (Nappies) all the time as well as pain on my right-hand side of my top 13 or 15 inch scar when I lean on the kitchen sink, I have this scar because they couldn't remove my womb through my Virginia as I had massive fibroids that were bleeding a lot and lost a lot of blood one hair length from a blood transfusion hence I am folio anemic as for my smear I have to wait on results now.
