I’m 2 weeks post hysterectomy, due to get my test results tomorrow, but one strange thing I’ve really noticed is that it takes less food to fill me up. Now this isn’t a bad thing for me as I’m overweight and always have been overweight to varying degrees since I was a child in the 60’s.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so is this just because the bowel and intestines have moved?
Also is this permanent, I’m sort of crossing my fingers that it is, or will my appetite return to what was normal before the operation.
I was delighted when my appetite was decreased post op and assumed it was the after effects of the anaesthetic - and used it to focus on eating healthily and managed to lose a few pounds! I also found I suddenly preferred cheese and onion crisps to salt and vinegar but have no idea of the possible rationale behind that!
Yes that’s what I’m trying to do but in the back of my mind I’m wondering if maybe the intestines are kinked or twisted and whether this might be a problem going forward. In saying that my bowel is working ok. I seem to have got past the wind pain stage too.
I suppose I should just see what happens from now on.
EP17, obviously I’m not medical but if there was a bowel issue I imagine you’d have pain or discomfort.
