Hi all
So I had my total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingoopherectomy yesterday midday.
Stormy night with windy pain and temperature relieved by paracetamol infusion .Helped to get up on my feet.
Temperature settled this morning.
Up and about .Catheter removed.
Passing wind and feeling more comfortable..
Wound dressing removed tonight .
I will have a shower in the morning and be considered for discharge.

Hi I’m sure you’re relieved the surgery is done. I had a. Abdominal hysterectomy as well. In hospital 2 nights and recovered really well. Hope you can get home tomorrow!
Hi Mimzan
Am glad you have had the op and feeling more comfortable. Fingers crossed you can have that shower in the morning and go home. I felt so much better once home.

I’m just home from mine too. It was done on Monday and laparoscopically which I didn’t expect as I’d heard previous surgery scarring might mean preclude that.
I feel relatively good but I have to keep the catheter in for the next 2 weeks to give my bladder time to heal from a slight nick during surgery. I was quite scared going in for the surgery but I do have to say the care I received was absolutely fantastic. Now I just have to wait for the catheter to come out and the lab results to come through before finding out if I need more treatment.
