Hi has anyone loss weight before grade and staging with womb cancer I am really worried that it could of spread with the weight loss

  • Absolutely! Looks like my uterus weighed about 3lbs! I was delighted by my post op weight loss which was down to the removal of my uterus junk and not eating so much for at least the first week while my bowels were getting back to normal.

  • So you lost weight before grade and staging hun

  • Hi I lost weight whilst waiting for my op and tests - my womb/stomach were so bloated I was getting horrible indigestion and lost my appetite; once I had the hysterectomy I started exercising much more when allowed and eating better (BP had gone up so wanted to control it).

  • Yup! And very glad I was too!

  • Hi hun what grade and staging was you at I am just having my mri tomorrow then it's the results it's just I am losing weight and no appetite

  • Stage 1b.grade 1 x

  • Grade 1 Stage 1A

  • Hi, I am new to the grp. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 womb cancer nearly 3 months ago. Is it normal to be waiting for your operation this long? Stage 1 is all they have told me. I have had all my scans and gone to pre op appointments. I even had to have an iron fusion due to the amount of blood loss I have experienced over a prolonged period (excuse the pun).

I didn't have a period for about 7 months in 2023-2024 and lost over a stone in weight!

I hope you are all doing ok? Heart️

  • Hi Deeceecat, have you chased it at all with your CNS and GP?

  • Hello Deeceecat

Welcome to the group. I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of womb cancer. After waiting for so long I would suggest giving your hospital a call or you could try emailing your consultants secretary (should be contact details on any letters you have had) and asking for an update. If you do not receive a response within a couple of days you could do an online consultation/phone your GP who would be able to contact the hospital directly for an update.

There can be a difference between hospitals in how long it can be before surgery- but 3 months without a plan does seem too long.
