Evening everyone
I have seen mentions of dietary advice. I start my 25 radiotherapy sessions on 5th December. Then I will have 3 brachytherapy sessions.
At my planning appointment i asked about diet and was just told to avoid anything that makes me gassy or bungs me up!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

For me though it was avoiding high fibre, avoiding dairy and eating a lot of bland food like white toast, crumpets, plain rice. I would recommend to see how it does affect you as people can be affected to a different extent depending on the exact area being treated.
I did find I needed to drink more as my bladder felt a bit irritated and I did avoid anything too high in caffeine.

Hi, I had 25 x radio and 2 x brachy in 2022. I followed the advice on the leaflet Jane mentioned and also avoided foods high in. insoluble fibre such as wholegrain cereal, wholemeal and seedy bread, skins of fruit and veg and greasy/fatty foods. Some are told to do this if/when they get the runs, but I decided to start this a couple of days before treatment started and carried on all the way through. I was fortunate to only start having side effects half way through week 4 and have no idea if this was luck or diet.
