Hi everyone. I am currently 5 weeks post surgery and I have met my clinical oncologist. He is putting me on radiotherapy (25 sessions) then chemotherapy. It just makes me a bit uncomfortable that I’m having radio before chemo but he assured me that it won’t make any difference. Anyone have this experience?
Also how long did you ladies before you started adjuvant treatment after surgery? They scheduled me for next month which would make it almost 8 weeks since my hysterectomy.
Feeling a bit anxious about all this right now.
Hi I only had radiotherapy- started 11 weeks after surgery. Was told they aim for starting within 12 weeks- so only just made it. Had planning scan around 3 weeks. before 1st treatment
Hi
My experience of having chemo first was that I had not really recovered from it when the radiotherapy started. I would possibly not have felt so poorly during the radiotherapy, if I had it first.
I am not sure that it would make any difference to outcome, just different hospitals do things different ways.
