Mri and Contrast help

Hi, I had an MRI scan at the end of May with contrast. To be honest it hapoened so quickly I didn’t have time to do research about it beforehand. It was the first (and only) one I’ve had. It was absolutely fine! You have to keep as still as possible for around 40 mins and it’s quite noisy, but painless. The contrast felt a little cold when going in at first but I had no after or other effects at all. Try not to worry too much, surely it’s better to have the scan than not, and the contrast is only used as it gives a better result. You’ll be fine!

Hi Sophia, I’d advise you to stop googling! MRI with contrast means it is much clearer for them to see what’s what. The contrast goes in through a cannula and all you need to do afterwards is make sure you drink well to flush it through. I had an MRI with contrast for staging post diagnosis.
