I am four weeks post op and had bleeding last night and some lower pelvic pain; assume this is normal? Really can’t face asking my CNS
Hi, how much bleeding did you have? I had some pink spotting until around 8 weeks post op which was more apparent after I’d done a bit too much I think, but it wasn’t proper dark red bleeding and I had no pain with it. I had some ‘proper’ bleeding 2 nights after a 6 week check up where the dr had a good prod around, but this was 1 night only and then stopped. Have you possibly done too much over the last day or so? If it continues today and tonight without lessening or reason I personally would be making a phone call.
Hi Tangle123
Sometimes ladies can have a little spotting/light bleeding if they have overdone it. I was also warned that there may be some spotting when the stitches dissolve. Have you been doing more than normal?
I was told any pain and heavier, consistent bleeding, heavier red blood to give my hospital a call. Any slight bleeding/spotting that settled quickly and coincided with being more active would be more normal.
Why not give the Support Line a call and ask one of the nurses? Then that will avoid you going to your CNS, unless really necessary. Although for me, my CNS would be the first port of call.

Hi, I’m currently experiencing this. I’m 3rd weeks post op and I had bright bleeding this afternoon and this evening. I havent soaked any pad yet but I noticed some very small bloodclots with the blood. Really scared right now. Only excessive thing I did today was try a “marching” exercise for a 2 minutes or less.
sulettamercury I think you have your answer right there, 3 weeks post op is probably too soon to be doing anything other than walking - best to check with your CNS,
Hi I will do call them tomorrow. So far I’m osberving and hopefully it stops tonight. That or it’s a trip to A&E.
