So the hospital called today. I am stage 1b grade 1 but with very likely lung Mets which if so would be a very very rare situation Radiotherapy next and then another CT.

  • Hi Tangle123, bless you - that’s a mixed bag of news isn’t it, and I feel for you. When I got my post op results they also found something “rare” and I’m sure they had no idea that the word “rare” stuck out like a sore thumb for me, especially as the words “and we don’t really know what to do about it” were added! For me I just wanted to feel like my results were straightforward not rare. So will the radio be pelvic or chest?

  • thanks for sharing - radio.will be pelvic to pick up any stray cells at top of the vagina.

Yes rare sticks doesn't it! And I have a ton of questions today which I will send off but basically my cancer cells seem to have teleported to the lungs ...?

  • Hi Tangle123

I am sorry to hear that there are likely lung mets.

From my understanding of lung mets they tend to do more than one CT to look for changes so perhaps that it why they are doing it the way they are. DId they mention any LVSI in your results?

I hope that your radiotherapy can get underway soon.

If you need to chat things through, perhaps give the Support Line a call. It is tough when it is something more rare and there are not clear answers.

  • thanks Jane - no LVSI

  • Just wondered as I did and they explained that it was a possible way that the cancer could spread distantly in some people. I hope you are doing ok today. Its hard when your results are not what was expected. Mine weren't but once I got my head around them and started the follow up, it did feel better.
