Hi Ladies
Feeling like a bit of fraud here, I'm awaiting my first biopsy result done last Wednesday after a TVS showed the womb thicker than it should be. Scan showed no other causes for concern.
However, I wanted to ask what other symptoms you all experienced before your diagnoses. I started with feeling bloated, noticing discomfort in a couple of yoga positions that were normally fine (opening legs around pelvic area). THen I had a bleed which followed with the pinky/brownish discharge. AT that point I contacted the GP and here we are.
I've had more small amounts of spotting and light discharge but a lot of pelvic discomfort and pain. I feel very bloated, peeing more often and if I need to poo, well! I remember that being the same back in the day of periods.
I'm 57, I am overweight and I'm 4 years + in menopause. Been on HRT always with progesterone.
Its hard not to imagine things, but I genuinely feel really uncomfortable and tired. Is this just the hormonal imbalance? The symptoms for womb cancer seem to just be the bleeding, did you find that to be true for you?
Just wanted to say that MacMillan are supporting my Dad with terminal cancer and you are all amazing. xx
Hi SFW 24
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am so glad that your Dad is being helped by Macmillan. I am sorry to hear of his cancer.
No need to feel a fraud for posting here- many women to find us while undergoing testing and you are welcome to post when you need to.
My presenting symptom was a heavy bleed. (If you click on my name my profile will come up) I did not have other symptoms that I was aware of although I did feel more tired than normal. However I put that down to recently having covid and also because I worked long hours. I remember a bit of back ache the week before, but nothing major- probably caused by lifting.
Bleeding does seem to be the common symptom but some ladies are diagnosed with other symptoms. Some ladies have mentioned pain or feeling uncomfortable. Changes in bladder, bowel or bloating also warrant investigation- although these can also have other causes. Pain in the pelvic area also needs looking into.
Only the biopsy can say for sure whether there is cancer present and they do tend to rule out the most serious possible causes first, before moving on to work out if anything else is going on.
One thing i did notice is once I began having tests, I did become ultra aware of my body and worried any sensation meant the worst.
I think the thing to focus on at this moment is that you have had some symptoms and are getting checked out. That was the right thing to do. The waiting to find out is hard and for me it almost felt better once I knew for sure. If you feel like talking things through with someone, then please do give the Support Line a call. The number is below.
I hope that you do not have to wait too long to have answers. In the meantime, we are here if you need us.

No symptoms whatsoever other than a very very faint pink colour on the loo paper when I wiped.
Hi,
I was 2+ years on HRT, had a bleed (felt hormonal - bigger tummy and boobs like it used to with a period), but it didn’t quite stop afterwards. No other symptoms at all, was 100% convinced it was hormonal right up until I got my biopsy results (after non urgent TVS showed 14mm thickening). Luckily it was caught early (type 1, stage 1a), even though I’d left it for several weeks/months to ‘settle down’ after stopping HRT following the initial bleed. I‘m now 11 weeks post total hysterectomy with no further treatment required. I was on combined HRT for most of the time and my cancer was oestrogen sensitive. My journey is in my bio. Hopefully you won’t have to wait long for your results - fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on?
I was the same - had a bleed and thought it was hormonal as had period type pains. I’d had some spotting previously but thought it was the tail end of menopause ( which was stupid in retrospect!) . I genuinely didn’t think it was serious particularly as the ultra stenographer said I had a fibroid. 2 biopsies later- got the bad news. I guess it reduced the time I had to be anxious!!
