Pipelle biopsy

I had my pipelle biopsy on a Wednesday and was telephoned just over a week later on the Thursday evening by consultant who asked me to come in the following morning (Friday) to talk about the results. Was told on day of biopsy that results would be in about 4 weeks time and they would telephone me with them.

Oh that is quick. How did it go? Did you get positive results

Good luck fingers crossed on your results. I had mine last Wednesday. I'm not a very patient person.

I had my biopsy on a Tuesday and got a call the following Thursday afternoon inviting me to a hospital appointment the next morning. I’m not a patient person either, though I wasn’t worried after my biopsy as I thought it was just a hormone imbalance at the time…

When I had my hysteroscopy and biopsy, my consultant told me afterwards that I’d hear by phone within 2 weeks. When it was 2 weeks to the day I phoned his secretary and asked when I’d be likely to hear as it was supposed to be 2 weeks. This was on a Wednesday. She phoned me back and said that my results had missed the MDT the previous Friday and would be heard at the MDT meeting in two days’ time and I’d get a phone call late morning. Before that I knew nothing about MDTs (multi-displinary team) and understood from then on that MDTs meet only once per week and that in the majority of cases results won’t be issued until after that meeting has happened and the results discussed. I got my phone on the Friday morning so that was two weeks and two days after my hysteroscopy.

Mine came back around a week later. I was phoned by the matron on the unit that does the testing. I did have the option to have an appointment to get the results in person but I opted for the phone call as thought it would be quicker. I also preferred to be at home to have the news. I did however have a pretty good idea already what the result would be. 

Hope you do not have to wait too long.
