At my biopsy results appointment with the specialist, following my total hysterectomy, the specialist said I had an infection,I got follow up letter to say.. vaginal vault dehiscence with infection treatment being 900mg of two different antibiotics 3xdaily for week..got to have chemo&radiotherapy in few weeks ..so wondering if the dehiscence will heal itself?
Hi Knittynanna
Am sorry to hear you have got an infection and vaginal vault dehiscence.
Hopefully the antibiotics should work to treat the infection. From my understanding they can sometimes heal on their own but need monitoring. I would imagine that they will check you again after your antibiotics and to see if it has healed properly.
As chemo and radiotherapy can affect healing then I would expect them to monitor it during your treatment. Any pain or bleeding/discharge during healing time, I would recommend contacting your CNS.
