Not good news today. I'll let you know tomorrow because I'm a bit shell shocked at the moment and emotionally drained.

  • Really sorry to hear that! Im not sure what else to say except Thinking of you. Hope you have someone there with you? If not please reach out if needed. Lots of love, Ethalil.

  • My apologies for taking so long to update you on my Biopsy results.

    I definitely have cancer.

Having a CT scan next week to ascertain what grade of cancer it is.

Regardless of this though they're removing everything, including the cervix.

Decision about lymph nodes will be made at the time of the operation.

A green dye is injected into the womb and if any turn blue, it's cancer.

    Operation in 4-6 weeks.

    Radiotherapy yet to be decided.

Three monthly check ups after the operation for a year.

Pre-assessment next Tuesday to meet surgical team etc...

  • Sorry to hear that the news you got has increased any stresses you have hopefully you have support from family friends or partner, take care x

  • Sorry to hear that you were given this diagnosis. Try to hold on to the fact that if it is confined to the uterus, it is curable.

Sounds like the dye thing is a sentinel node biopsy, I had that as part of my hysterectomy also.

If you have any questions, ask away x

  • Hi enuff_sed, thanks for updating us. You’ve had a shock but each of us can relate as we’ve all either been there or are there. The terms can all be e bit confusing - type, grade, stage for example. The probable type and grade is probably already known from the biopsy; it’s the predicted stage that will be found from the CT. Removal of everything is the norm. Some ladies have nodes sampled during the op, some don’t (I didn’t). Also at my pre assessment appointment I only met general nursing staff who checked me over and gave me something to read, something to drink the night before and something to shower with the morning of my op. Hope your CT appointment is soon.
