Well had my first chemo (pacli and Carbo) on Thursday Had the cold cap which was a strange feeling ! Will see how my hair goes before next cycle as to if I carry on with it but fingers crossed so far feel OK after treatment.Think it's probably the anti sickness and steroids they send you home with .Have been warned it could maybe get a bit worse after a few days but I'm staying optimistic xx
Hi Shar58
Well done for doing the first one. I found it the hardest as you are not sure what to expect.
With the cold cap you can expect to see some shedding at around 14 days and that is normal and not a sign it isn't working. I also found that between the 2nd and 3rd chemo cycle I had some regrowth so that helped disguise any hair I had lost.
Am glad you are feeling ok at the moment. I found that I did have a bit of a dip after the first few days when they steroids stop and if this does happen mention it at your review and they can give you a tapering dose on the next cycle. That made a big difference for me.
Rest up
Jane
