I've seen oncologist today and will start chemo next week hopefully , my only concern is he said only 5% of patients benefit from chemo and I will also have radiotherapy afterwards. He mentioned P53 positive ?
Hi Shar58
P53 positive means that there has been a gene mutation on the surface of the original tumor. I was advised it was best to have chemo for this. I did not require radiotherapy but I had 3 sessions of Brachytherapy.
Unfortunately my own experience of chemo was a very rare reaction and I only had one session.
If the grade was to change it is usually down not up. I was originally grade 3 but went down to 2 after histology.
