I received a call from the Consultant, the scan results are in, the MDT has taken place, it hasn’t spread outside the uterus, and my treatment will be the hysterectomy (no chemo, no radiotherapy or brachytherapy). They are going to get back to me with a date, no date or place of op given yet. He also said the recovery will be 6 weeks needed. 1a grade 3.
Maybe get some batch cooking done and put in the freezer if you are on your own like me? The op itself is ok and if you are having robot assisted laparoscopic surgery, the healing is ok as long as you keep moving but listen to your body. It felt very intense to begin with, but healing happens quite quickly considering. May help to make a list of worries and see what you need to help in advance.
Hi EndoCanc, I’m pleased for you that you have a good predicted stage. What in particular scares you about the op?
For me being put out but I've been under twice before and seems likes seconds I know
Not as big as this one but remember having oxygen think that's normal for a while
Hi EndoCanc
That is great news. I hope that you get the date soon. I would say that 6 weeks recovery is pretty much standard. I found the first week was a time to do not much at all but from the 2/3 weeks I felt a lot more myself.
Do let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.
Jane
