Hello,

On 20/4/2020 I was disgnosed with Endometrial cancer stage 2, I have the Minerva coil implanted. and have opted not to have a surgery and ride it as long as I can.  I have discomfort now and again, but just lately I am so fatigued and lack energy to do anything, I am depressed and can't be bothered with life sometimes, I also am sleepimg alot-sometimes till 5 o'clock -Dont suggest a doctor-they are like hens teeth.

I really need help,please,

Leith Lass

  • Mollysue, Hi yes I was eventually offed a hystorectomy but I have a bad heart- and I dont think I would make it through the anesthetic.

  • Leithlass, was that their view too? We have ladies on this group with heart issues who’ve had the op.

  • Hi Leith Lass

I am sorry to hear that you were diagnosed in 2020 with endometrial cancer.

I know you do not want to go to a doctor but I think that you probably know that it is time to get checked out. Have you got a CNS you can contact or even your Practice Nurse?

It maybe in the time since you were diagnosed and now that there have been advances and whereas I can understand your worry about your heart, it may be that they can check you over and offer you some reassurance over a hysterectomy or even some other treatment. I think that along with the discomfort, the increase in fatigue, needs looking into-even if its only for some blood tests or ultrasound.

Would talking it through help- we have some lovely nurses you can talk to on the Support Line- 8am-8pm daily (the number is below) - but I do think you need a check- even if after that you still decide you do not want any treatment- it maybe that they can help you out with the symptoms.

Hope this helps a bit. I know its hard when you feel depressed and tired all the time, but do get a check to find out what is going on.

  • Hello  LeithLass

I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. Feeling depressed makes it hard to think clearly and you may feel overwhelmed. Jane's advice is good. I can't think of much to add.

    1. It sounds like time to pick up the phone and chat things through with someone medically trained so you know what your options are going forward.
    2. I agree GP appts are hard to get, but persevere or ring the Macmillan helpline (Jane gave you the numbet) for support and advice.
    3. It may feel difficult to do but you totally deserve and need some support at the moment.
    4. You have been courageous reaching out like this. Not easy to do that when you are depressed.

I have just returned home after an horrendous journey from a radiotherapy appt. My first thought was to message you. I hope you feel the warmth from us on here.

    Sending you a hug.

  • Hi KT89,

Many thanks for replying to my message, and I am sorry to hear you are going through Radiotherapy, so I am returning the Hug,

    Leith Lass

  • Jane, Thank you for your message of hope, I will try and contact my CN\ Or I will give the support line a call . Kindest Regards,

    Leith Lass

  • Marmiitefan,59,

Hi, I have narrowing of both sides, already had a heart attack, and  have a stent inserted .- I have a fear of not waking up after the op and leaving everybody  behind-

    Regards Leith Lass

  • Thanks for explaining LeithLass - I was wondering if your consultant shares your concern regarding rhe possible risk? I think most if not all of worry about not waking up after the op.

  • Hiya Marmite59.

I also have helped my husband with bowel cancer in 2021, and I nearly lost him twice in the recovery, and the after math with recovery. My Consultant is fully aware of my fear,

    Leith Lass

  • That must have been difficult for you. Mine was stage 2 too btw. It appears that you aren’t comfortable answering my question (apologies, I was only seeking clarification) so I’ll step away from the thread. All the best.
