Hi,
I had bleeding post total hysterectomy, which settled after 10 days. Now just starting my fourth week post op and had some bleeding (not heavy but enough for a pad) three days ago. It is now settling - spotting - so I can wear pant liners again. How long does the bleeding last? Is it six weeks? Can the bleeding be erratic? I did have thrush after a UTI (which I got advice on re treatment. No pessary but a tablet and cream). I'm not overly concerned, just wonder if anyone else had a similar experience.
HI KT89
I did not actually have any bleeding after mine but was told to expect some a bit like you are describing. They just said some do and some don't. I was told to call CNS with anything that would soak through a pad in less than an hour or if I was unduly concerned.
Yours sounds normal to what I was told. I was also warned that I might notice if any dissolved stitches at some point. I did at around 3-4 weeks.
Just give your CNS a call if anything worries you.
Jane
I also had no bleeding after my op, but I did get a little spotting when I’d been overdoing things a bit - is it possible that you’ve been doing too much? As in lifting especially.
Hello MarmiteFan59
No I've been a model patient (polishing my halo here). I reckon it's probably the thrush infection last week that has unsettled things a bit then. Gone back to spotting again so hopefully it will ease off.
