I was diagnosed with Womb Cancer stage 1A in October 2022, depth of lining 27mm just before my husband's birthday there has been a couple hiccups before I came across one of my now consultants Dr Rose who is in my opinion one of the best that knows her craft especially with obese women when doing the hysteroscopy although all three had to be done without any general anesthetic and two with (they were the hiccups that consultant couldn't get the biopsies ) and that's when Dr Rose came to the rescue she done the first one without anesthesia and said everything looked health and took a biopsy off a polyp which was there Dr Rose phoned  three weeks Later with the results, stage 1a which was a huge shock then bloods X-rays MRI and CT Scans appointment informing us the they (second consultant Dr Mills )thought the cancer was in the polyp. On 22nd December 2022 get a general for the third hysteroscopy to get the cancer out unfortunately the consultant that done the operation was the first one that was rubbish so I was told they couldn't get the polyp out, we were devastated as we were supposed be cancer free by Christmas 2022.

23rd December 2022 Dr Rose phone me at home and was gutted the polyp couldn't be removed she said " she would phone me back in a couple hours as she was going to ask her team if they would assist her during lunch hour to remove the polyp" a date was set for 5th January 2023 the hysteroscopy was done without anesthesia (it had to be done) the polyp was removed and the progesterone coil put in were the polyp was as well as getting proscribed 30mg daily Medroxyprogesterone (provera) until I lose enough weight for my operation as my BMI was 61 now down to 56 but the robot and anesthesiologist want my BMI down to 50 before touching me unfortunately it's not happening as I am under so much stress regarding family but on the plus side my HbA1c is down to 61 from 72 which has never been achieved for the last 27years and not forgetting the anesthetics guy will be happy at that at least as for all my other medical issues and being disabled that gets dealt with on a day to day basis. Lol

Before my diagnosis I would have heavy bleeding when unwell or stressed I was advised after an overnight stay in Monklands Hospital by a consultant I had to get the bleeding checked out as it was nothing to do with why I was in Hospital, went to GP explained everything and with two weeks the ball rolling but I had started peeing light blood and stringy  clots even after my polopy removal and the biopsy without anesthesia my womb lining has not changed it was still 27mm and the change or biopsy result is  Atypical endometrial hyperplasia precancerous cells in the lining of my uterus but it's not to say that they won't turn cancerous, when I was 27 /28 years old i had precancerous cells of the cervix and had to go through a procedure called a loop electrosurgical excision (LEEP),that  is was the most common way of treating precancerous changes of the cervix.

Now onto my question regarding today's issue as mentioned before I had blood coming through my pee with stringy clots or even just clots but today for 20min or so I had really heavy dark red PV bleeJoyng with a assume clots, I couldn't see them because the blood was heavy and dark, I am not sure if this happened due to stress and not feeling well as even during the times I would bleed it was neveJoylike this.  My husband is worried it might have been due to going back to our regular sex the way it was before our daughter came along and now she has left home we have been enjoying the way we useJoyto be as sex was always an integral important part of our relationship even though I am 60yrs and he will be 64yrs in October 2023 it's great that we are back to our old ways and being even closer aJoy truthfully enjoying ourselves going to the Cinema once a week going out for Coffee or lunch or Dinner going for walks !!! I am in my wheelchair it's his legs that are moving lol Joy.

Has anyone had the same issue as I did today or does anyone think my husband might be correct (let me tell you I don't care cause it won't stop me from enjoying sex we have waited to long to get our jib back now our girl is 26yrs and living with her partner) Any advice or information regarding what my next step should be is very WELCOMED

  • Hi Wilma08

I am sorry to hear that you have had a heavy bleed with clots and that is different to normal. Whatever has caused it I would recommend contacting your GP today for some advice and reassurance. A 20 minute heavy PV bleed with clots needs checking. During my diagnosis and tests my nurse specialist said to me that sort of bleed would be considered a haemorrhage and if it happened to me then I would need to seek medical advice asap. This amount of bleeding was what led to me going to A+E

  • Definitely seek medical advice asap for the bleeding. Do let us know how it goes.

  • Good afternoon Jane2511, Thank you for your kind reply today 23rd August 2023, I ended up contacting  my GP and got the last telephone consultation today at 15:20pm I spoke with one of the GP's for about q5 min or so whilst he looked up my notes.

He asked about the UTI I had for 3 weeks as it was hard to shift then about any scans I am due which is next week 30th August 2023 which is for my right hand Ovarie so he's phoning the radiologist to get the scan changed to full womb and both sides for the ovaries also he's going to contact my oncologist  regarding the bleed and change of scan. He said he just wants to cover all avenues to make sure there hasn't been a change in cells.

Today I feel really  tired and taking mefenaic for pain plus paracetamol plus my other hord of prescriptions.

  • Hi Wilma

I am glad that you managed to get a telephone appointment with your GP today. It sounds like a good plan for him to be speaking with the oncologist about the bleeding and to change the scan to make sure everything is covered.

I am not surprised you are feeling really tired. The bleeding plus the appointment is a lot to deal with. Hopefully you will have a settled evening and are able to rest up a bit while waiting for your scan next Wednesday.

Good Luck with the scan and if there is anything else you need please do ask.

  • Thanks Muse, it's good to come onto the sight when unsure of any situation and feel listened to, as my own CNS hasn't been in touch for some months now not even to check how things are going.

  • Thanks 2511,  To be honest I was pondering what to do then decided to phone the GP and got the last appointment or I would have been calling at 08:00am for over an hour only to be told you need to tomorrow Disappointed so someone or something was watching over me.

  • Am glad you managed to get the appointment- even by phone- it has helped. How are you feeling today?

  • Hi WILMA 08

Since having the Mirena coil inserted I discharged plenty of blood with lots of thick near sculpture like additions.

I am hoping its my womb lining cells they are try to shed.

I hope you managed to get some medical guidance and positive support in your hospital appointment.
