Just My Luck

After having my hysterectomy cancelled because of my blood sugar levels, it was rescheduled for 18th September, my blood sugar levels are now almost at pre diabetic levels and I was getting geared up for it.

Today I tripped over a kerb and fell into a wall, I’ve broken my arm in 2 places at the top…I might need an op to pin it…I’m at home but back at fracture clinic on 30/08.

I have emailed my consultants secretary to advise of my calamitous day, he’s still on holiday and back next week, I’m fully expecting him to say my hysterectomy will have to be postponed…although I was dreading the op I’m gutted this might happen and worried that things might get worse before I eventually get my hysterectomy.

All my womb biopsies have so far been clear, atypia hyperplasia was found in one polyp which was removed in May and I had a mirena coil put in a couple of months ago.

Not a good day at all, my arm/shoulder is really painful which isn’t helping my mood at all.

  • Hello Duffers Mum

Well done for managing to get your blood sugar levels under control.

Am so sorry to hear of your trip today and broken arm. It must be really painful.

I can understand your worry over the hysterectomy. But you have done the right thing in contacting the Consultant's secretary and I hope that when he returns from holiday next week that you can get some reassurance/answers. Hopefully by the time you attend the Fracture clinic they should have a better idea as to how long it will take to recover from the break. I totally get how frustrating it is though.

  • I’m just so cross with myself…it is really painful too which is making me grumpier than usual, I just hope my hysterectomy doesn’t get delayed for too long

  • Might they go ahead with the hysterectomy anyway?

  • I can hope, guess it depends on if I need my arm pinning…should know next week when consultant is back, I’m keeping everything crossed
