Hi I have been ok, suffering from a bad back.  But had some pains of late, I keep getting like my insides are twisting and I have to stretch out to stop it, very painful.  Also today I have had like period pains, drawing feeling.  I have had some blood when I wipe, plus if I put finger up there is blood there also.  Any advice would be welcome.  I have an appointment with GP tomorrow.   Thank you for reading

  • Hi there,

I have no idea what could be causing your pain or why you are bleeding but I think you should contact the Dr who did the surgery or your GP.

I had a similar type of twisting pain before my cancer diagnosis and believed it was something to do with my ovaries,  but if you have had them removed, it can't be that.

Phone the professionals, even if it's just to put your mind at rest.

    Best wishes,  Helen xx

  • Hi Debwaw, I had a total hysterectomy nearly seven months ago. I had some pelvic pain and period like pain and very light bleeding which settled after about a week. This is over the last month. I rang the oncology nurse and she spoke to my consultant who did my hysterectomy,  he said that the pain was probably scar tissue from the op and radiotherapy, which I finished about 2 months ago. The outcome was that I had a CT scan and the results came back as no cancer. I would go and see your GP and get in touch with your oncology.team and get checked out. I hope this helps a bit and I wish you  all the best. June.

  • Thanks you hopefully all will be OK, glad your doing ok x

    Hi

I've had similar. The CT came back clear. Consultant said either scarring on bowel from radio or adhesions from surgery. Advised me to take docusate to make bowel motions easier. Get checked out though.

  • Hello Debwaw68

Always good to get anything checked out. Hope that your GP was able to give some reassurance.

  • Please keep us updated. I understand that there can be vaginal scar tissue but in these situations it’s best to be seen by doctor.
