Hi all hope you are well,
Its been a while since I have posted on here, I have a ct scan next weekend for my 6 month check up so scanxiety is kicking in. Also have a worry as I have bleeding when I go for a week, have spoken to my cns and oncologist but they don’t seem too worried but my mind is working over time thinking it has come back in my bladder or somewhere else. Have had antibiotics for an infection and over the counter medication for cystitis and no change. On the plus side we have got two new kittens (Percy & Wobbly Bob) to keep me occupied. X
Hi Rach_E
I don't have regular scans but I have regular appointments every 12 weeks and I understand the anxiety. I get really nervous and tend to go a bit into panic mode when the letter arrives on the doorstep. My oncology nurse team are lovely and I see the same people every time but just going through the door brings it all back. I hope that your scan and check up go to plan.
It is reassuring that your CNS and oncologist are not too concerned about the bleeding but I understand that once you have a worry in your head - it is easy to start to over think it. The main thing is you have done the right thing and told them.
Am sorry that you have had cystitis. That's not great. I find that anything that I have I always link it to the cancer first and I think that is natural. I had covid recently and automatically was concerned it was something more! However on the positive side I suppose it is a good thing that we are aware of our bodies and pay attention if something isn't right.
Having 2 new kittens is fab news. I expect they keep you both busy. Love the names Percy and Wobbly Bob too.
Good Luck with your appointments and please do let us know how you get on. In the meantime we are here if you need anything.

Hi Rach_E
As you will know, scanxiety affects all of us in different ways, at different times and for different lengths of time.
Having a 6 month check is a good result in itself and if your oncology team don't seem particularly worried about the bleeding you are having, then it probably isn't anything to worry about.
We know worrying won't change anything but we're only human, and are bound to worry. Try to occupy your mind with other things, and good luck for next week. Let us know when you get the results.
Love from Helen x

Scanxiety is an excellent word. I feel that it is natural to be anxious and agree with others that if your medical team are not worried is a positive thing.
Do keep us posted.
How lovely to have new kittens. I am certain that they will keep you busy. Adorable names. Are they litter mates?
