Hi... It's me again.. Lily Sooo.. I had a Hystercopsy under GA back in May this year n It's only Today that I finally get a telephone appointment to speak to a consultant regarding outcome.
I now have to have the whole thing repeated again as sample size inadequate.. I can't actually believe it.. I've just spent since April trying to get some answers re PMB, undergoing investigations, chasing & waiting for results... And for what???? All that stress.. N now on repeat.
I between all that I've been in SDEC for abdominal pain n scan. I've also been collapsing on a regular basis so trying to get to bottom of that.
My patience is now running very thin n to think I've got to put myself thru it all again.
Why in God's name when the sample came bk to them as being too small did they not just rebook me in n notify me?????? Instead of wasting more weeks.
Not a happy bunny!!!!!!
Lily
Hello Lily
I am so sorry that you are going through this and I understand how frustrating it must be.
Have they given you any idea on when you will have the biopsy again? I hope that you do not have to wait too long and given your experience that they can put it through urgently. I wonder if it is worth asking them if you can go on a short notice cancellation list- so if someone else does not go ahead as planned they could get you in earlier?
I can understand that you are worrying with the collapsing as well and abdominal pain as well. The only other thing I can suggest is speaking to your GP and seeing if their intervention can move things along more quickly. My GP did this for me and was able to contact the hospital directly through an internal line and I was given an appointment with the consultant at his clinic the following day. Might be worth a try.
Jane
Thx for replying Jane... The consultant said that it wud be put thru as Urgent so suppose to be in 2 weeks. But I don't hold out much hope as they said that in the first instance n it was over 4 weeks.
My GP is useless.. I think the Gynae dept where I live is just so busy n disorganised.
Just fed up with it all.. Like wading thru treacle.. Everything takes so long.. N it's so tiring that it's up to the patient to keep chasing their care up

Hi Lily
I can understand you are really fed up. I think perhaps I was lucky with my GP and with my hospital. I had a brilliant senior nurse who did my biopsy and pushed everything for me. Tests and diagnosis within 2 weeks and then a wait for 10 days until GP intervened then surgery within the week. My only delay really was post op histology and then I just kept emailing the consultant secretary and eventually the surgeon called me back.
I really hope that they get on and do it soon for you
Jane
Hi Lily, sorry to hear what a difficult time you been having. It's understandable that you are worried and frustrated particularly in respect of the lack of information. Do you have a telephone number from your earlier hysteroscopy that you could ring and check what's happening? Alternatively, as Jane has suggested you could ask your GP to intervene. I hope you hear something soon regarding the appointment.
