I was diagnosed with stage 4b endometrial cancer last September. I had chemo with Paclitaxel and carcobplatin. First two Pet scans showed everything was looking good with tumours shrinking and was then prescribed letrozole. However, first three month review shows the new tumour in lung and disease progressing in pelvis which was gutting. I’m due to start a treatment which my consultant has said has only just been signed off by the NHS - Keytruda and Lenvima. I have an appointment with him after my holiday to go through side effects. He says I’m ok to go ahead as I’m fit and well so keeping everything crossed for a successful outcome.
Hello AuntieT
I am sorry to see that you were diagnosed with endometrial cancer last September. It must have been hard to find out that the chemo did not continue to have a good effect on the tumours, especially when at first it was looking more hopeful.
It is good that they can offer you some treatment with Keytruda and Lenvima. I hope that your appointment with your consultant goes well and that the treatment can be started soon for you.
Please keep us updated on how you are getting on and if there is anything that you need please just ask.
Good Luck with the treatment.
Jane
Hi Auntie T, sorry to hear about your diagnosis last year. It must have been disappointing to hear that your treatment didn't continue to work as well as you had hoped. However, it's encouraging that new treatments are being developed and that you have been offered the opportunity to try one of them. I hope all goes well with your forthcoming appointment and that you will benefit from the new treatment. In the meantime, enjoy your holiday. x
Hi I am new to this site and also to a cancer diagnosis. Even writing that sounds strange. I am not sure what is acceptable on the site but I was interested in the Keytruda treatment. I have heard that taking pomegranate juice for a few weeks prior to this treatment really helps.
I apologise if this post isn’t acceptable but I am sitting in bed at five in the morning having found out that I have cancer only about 10 hours ago. I am like a rabbit in the headlights. Very scared of the future.
Welcome SusieD
i certainly feel for you writing from your bed in the early hours. It can be overwhelming to receive the news.
I joined this site when I was first referred to the 2 week path and found the ladies here so supportive.
Might be useful to introduce yourself in the New Here, Say Hello section. While every woman’s journey is unique we are able to provide support.
Hi Auntie
I've just read your post regarding your treatment etc and was wondering how you are doing. Have you started your new treatment? Did you have to be eligible for this type of drug? Which hospital is treating you?
Sorry for bombarding you with questions but I'm searching for a miracle drug, or at least an option. I started with endometrial cancer which then spread to my peritoneum, so although not exactly the same, it is similar.
Sending best wishes to you,
Helen xx
